Public Data Licence

    Free for human research and citation. Commercial data products and systematic reuse require permission.

    Last updated: 4 September 2026

    Plain-English summary

    You may look up, study, quote, and cite reasonable portions of Datawiser's public data. Search engines and general-purpose AI providers may crawl, index, train on, retrieve, and cite it, including in commercially operated general-purpose services. You may not harvest, resell, redistribute, or use the data to build a commercial financial data product or a substitute for Datawiser without written permission.

    This Public Data Licence ("Licence") applies to data values, tables, summaries, identifiers, metadata, and derived estimates made available without authentication on datawiser.ai, including pages under/free-data, /stock, and /reference(collectively, the "Public Data"), unless a page or agreement says otherwise. By copying or using the Public Data, you agree to this Licence.

    The licensor is DATAWISER LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16904026, with its registered office at 124-128 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX ("Datawiser", "we", "us", or "our").

    1. Uses allowed without asking

    Datawiser grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:

    • view and use the Public Data for personal study and research;
    • use individual records or limited excerpts in education, academic research, journalism, commentary, and other non-commercial work;
    • perform ad hoc human research within a business, provided the Public Data is not systematically collected, supplied to clients, or integrated into a product, service, model, or production workflow; and
    • publish findings that refer to limited portions of the Public Data with the attribution required below.

    These permissions apply only to rights that Datawiser or its licensors are entitled to license. They do not limit rights or exceptions you may have under applicable law.

    2. Attribution

    When you publish, display, or communicate Public Data, identify Datawiser as the source, link directly to the page from which the value came, and preserve the relevant observation date. Do not imply that Datawiser endorses you, your work, or your conclusions.

    3. Search engines and general-purpose AI

    Despite the commercial-use restrictions below, operators of general-purpose search engines, foundation models, and AI assistants may:

    • crawl the public pages in accordance with published robots directives and reasonable technical limits;
    • cache and index page content, including creating embeddings used solely to retrieve, rank, summarise, and cite the relevant Datawiser page; and
    • use the public page content as part of broad, multi-source corpora to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve general-purpose AI models and assistants; and
    • return brief excerpts or individual values in response to a user's query. Where the service presents source citations or links, it should identify Datawiser and link directly to the relevant source page.

    This permission applies even where the search engine, model, or assistant is operated commercially. It is limited to general-purpose search and AI uses. It does not permit a service whose primary purpose is to compile, supply, query, or analyse financial, securities-ownership, free-float, or shares-outstanding data; expose the Public Data in bulk or reconstructible form; enable systematic extraction; recreate the Datawiser dataset; or substitute for a Datawiser subscription or commercial data licence.

    4. Uses that require written commercial permission

    Except for the general-purpose search and AI uses expressly permitted in section 3, contact Datawiser before using the Public Data in or for any commercial product, service, feature, dataset, customer deliverable, data feed, API, specialised model, report, benchmark, index, valuation, risk system, investment process, trading system, or other automated or production workflow. Permission is also required where systematic use of the Public Data replaces, competes with, or avoids the need for a Datawiser subscription or commercial data licence.

    5. Uses that are not permitted

    Except for activities expressly permitted by section 3, and without prior written permission, you must not:

    • extract, scrape, download, or reconstruct all or a substantial portion of the Public Data;
    • repeatedly or systematically extract individual records in a way that recreates or substitutes for the dataset;
    • sell, sublicense, redistribute, or provide bulk access to the Public Data;
    • use the Public Data to train, fine-tune, evaluate, improve, or operate a model or automated system whose primary purpose is to reproduce, distribute, query, or commercialise Datawiser data, or to provide a substitute for a Datawiser product or commercial data licence;
    • remove attribution, conceal provenance, misstate observation dates, or present Datawiser estimates as company-reported facts; or
    • circumvent access controls, rate limits, robots directives, or other technical safeguards.

    6. Rights and source materials

    DATAWISER LTD and its licensors reserve all rights not expressly granted by this Licence, including rights in the compilation, selection, arrangement, verification, presentation, and maintenance of the Public Data and in Datawiser's derived estimates and written materials. Underlying company filings and third-party source materials remain subject to the rights and terms of their respective owners.

    7. Accuracy, advice, and warranties

    Public Data may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect and may change without notice. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Public Data is not investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DATAWISER LTD is not liable for losses arising from its use.

    8. Breach, changes, and separate agreements

    Your permission under this Licence ends automatically if you breach its terms. DATAWISER LTD may change this Licence for future use by updating this page and its last-updated date. API access, paid data, and commercial use may be governed by separate terms; where a signed agreement conflicts with this Licence, the signed agreement controls.

    9. Governing law and jurisdiction

    This Licence and any dispute or non-contractual obligation arising from it are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

    10. Commercial licensing

    We welcome commercial use under an appropriate licence. Contact Datawiser to discuss data feeds, API access, redistribution, specialised model use, or product integration.
